The Emir took a tour of Qatar University yesterday, meeting with both male and female students, faculty and staff.
While there, he was briefed on several of the school’s projects. He attended a lecture, took a tour of QU’s mechanical engineering lab, and visited the College of Medicine and the university’s research complex.
Sheikh Tamim chaired QU’s Board of Regents for several years as Heir Apparent, but never actually attended the school, graduating from Sandhurst in the UK.
According to QNA, the Emir also signed and presented a statement to the youth that said:
“Humans are the most important aspect of building a nation and a country’s biggest investment.”
It added that Qatar has invested in its youth and will develop further with the aid of science.
