More than three residents a day on average filed a formal complaint against Ooredoo or Vodafone with Qatar’s telecom regulatory last year, newly released figures show.
The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) said in a statement yesterday that it received 1,135 complaints in 2015.
Billing, network coverage, delays in installations and service disconnections were the most commonly cited issues by customers.
The CRA said the relative number of complaints against Ooredoo and Vodafone in terms of mobile phone service were proportional to each firm’s respective market share.
Roughly one-third of mobile users in Qatar are customers of Vodafone, which broke the market’s monopoly in 2009.
The organization added that more than 90 percent of the complaints had been resolved.
