Hundreds of people turned out to the Museum of Islamic Art Park yesterday to celebrate Indian culture on the first day of a community festival.
The Indian Cultural Center’s two-day event is this year titled “A Passage to India,” and features traditional dance performances, foods originating from different parts of the motherland, and kiosks offering handmade and other goods for sale.
Dignitaries in attendance included the Indian ambassador here, as well as Qatar’s Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage and diplomats from Belgium, Italy, Nigeria and Iran, the Gulf Times reports.
Admission is QR10 per person (though kids are free), and the celebrations continue on Friday from 3pm-10pm at the end of the park, near the outdoor cafe area.
