Hundreds of Indian expats turned up to their embassy in Doha this morning to celebrate the country’s 67th Republic Day.

The event marks the adoption of the constitution in 1950 and is being celebrated across the world.

There are more than 600,000 Indians living in Qatar, comprising one of the largest demographic groups here.

In Doha, the occasion was honored with a flag-raising ceremony, singing by school children and a speech from Ambassador Sanjiv Arora, who read out remarks from India’s President Pranab Mukherjee.
