As part of a regional tour, renowned British aerobatic team the Red Arrows will perform a free show over the Corniche on Thursday, Nov. 7th.
The team’s nine red BAE Hawks, all flown by British Royal Air Force pilots, will conduct a series of rolls and formations for crowds gathered at the West Bay end of the seafront from 2:15pm.
The team decided to use its scheduled daily shows at the Dubai Air Show later this month as a springboard for a tour across the region, and will also stop in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Oman.
The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, turn 50 years old next year.
They’ve performed more than 4,500 displays in 54 different countries, including the opening of the London Olympics in 2012.
Here’s a video showing them in action at an air show this summer:
Do you plan to check it out? Thoughts?
Wooo! The Red Arrows are the best!
They are good, but they are clearly second best when compared to the Snowbirds. Though I do admit to a certain bias. 😉
Awesome news! Let’s hope they don’t have to cancel last minute as they wear face masks!
Ps it was a joke….
OMG..can’t wait!!
I used to find such death-defying close formations and movements exciting and dangerous, but then I started driving in Doha . . .
Seriously thought, Red Arrows are great.
It is a very common, ancient, well-perfected device for trying to feel better. Blame others….Blaming is a way to protect your heart, trying to protect what is soft and open and tender in yourself. Rather than own that pain, we scramble to find some comfortable ground. Seriously, you blame Qatar and Doha every post it seems!!
making light of traffic in Qatar is hardly a sign of self-loathing. I’m very happy with my life. If I wasn’t it would be very hard to joke about how dangerous traffic is in Qatar.
How is he blaming others?
If you are trying to say that driving is Doha is not dangerous then you are seriously deluded!
This fact was truly brought home when a work colleague was seriously injured an her child killed, in a car accident during eid
how long will this show run on Thursday ? 2:15 would be a bit to early to leave home 🙂
I’m bummed that I won’t get to see them. I find them and the Snow Birds to be the two most enjoyable teams to watch.
Does anyone know how long this will last… coz work won’t give us time off to watch it.. and it’s a shame if they don’t have the spectators they deserve… They are awesome…..
