Anyone ever heard of the Google Art Project? Although it wasn’t that big when it launched last year, it’s been gradually expanding its digital collection to include hundred of thousands of images of paintings, sculptures and more from museums around the world.
Last week, Qatar became the first Arab country to be featured in the project.
Users can browse more than 250 works at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) &Â Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, sortable by artist, and usually with details of origin, date etc. You can even take a virtual tour of the MIAÂ permanent exhibit.
What do you think? Pretty cool, or pretty lazy?
