An internationally renowned acrobatic dance performance group from the UK is going to hold multiple shows in Doha this week, the Qatar Tourism Authority has announced.
Blaze will perform at the Doha Exhibition Center from Monday, Aug. 18 to Wednesday, Aug. 20 as part of the QTA’s Summer Festival lineup. The festival launched on Aug. 4 and runs through Sept. 27.
The 20-minute performances are free to watch and will be held at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm each day.
On its website, Blaze describes itself as “a high energy non-step street dance and break dance show.” In the past, the group’s dancers performed with several high-profile artists, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Rihanna and Sean Paul.
During its global tour, Blaze has performed in theaters in Berlin, Paris and Bangkok, among other cities, and has sold some 250,000 tickets worldwide.
Other events
For the festival, the Doha Exhibition Center has been set up as an “Entertainment City” that is open from 3 to 11pm each day.
In addition to the Blaze performances, the venue is hosting various rides, a skateboarding rink, a wall climbing zone and interactive sports zone.
A few kilometers from the DEC, nightly light and water shows are being held on the Corniche.
QTA is offering a shuttle service to the light shows and the DEC from the general post office near the Corniche. On weekdays, the shuttle runs hourly from 3pm to 10pm, and on weekends, from 2pm to 11pm.
Elsewhere in Qatar, there’s an inflatable water park set up in Al Wakrah and sporting events such as kayaking and bike riding in Al Khor from 1pm to 6pm every day.
