Preparations are underway for the 7th annual Wheels ‘n’ Heels Family Fun Day at the Museum of Islamic Art Park, which will run from 2pm to 10pm on Friday.
The event, which typically draws thousands of people and is being hosted by Reach Out to Asia (ROTA), will have multiple components. It includes a 3km walk along the Corniche that residents are invited to participate in to help fundraise for impoverished children’s education.
Friday’s festivities will also include an “Action on Diabetes” village and a Kids Zone with live entertainment, bouncy castles, face paint and games.
Performances will begin on the Wheels ‘n’ Heels Stage at 2pm, and will feature Shama Hamdan of the UAE, rally racer Nada Zeidan and Olympic swimmer Nada Mohamed Arkaji.
Food with a healthy spin will also be on sale at the event, and vendors will include Nando’s, Subway, Salad Boutique, Dippingo and Let’s popcorn.
In anticipation of Friday’s event, the MIA will close its car park on the 7th. Shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes from 2pm to 10pm from the Ministry of Interior & Qatar Sports Club parking zones.
Additionally, after the ROTA event, the MIA Park will be closed from Feb. 8 to Feb 10 for National Sport Day preparations. However, the museum and carpark will be open on these days.
