After a brisk start during yesterday’s opener which saw a record 68 riders from 16 nations compete, those who made the cut are revving up for a second day of races at the 2014 Aquabike World Championship.
Among those competing today on the Corniche: Kuwait’s defending champion Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq, Jeremy Poret and Jennifer Menard, both of France, who clocked the fastest times in the Runabout, Ski GP1 and Ski GP1 Ladies categories from the pole position sessions yesterday afternoon.
Qatar’s Mohamed Al Haidus is the top Qatari rider competing in today’s races, which kick off with pre-qualifying rounds at 12:45pm. The pole position sessions begin at 2:30pm and run through 5pm.
Residents are invited to watch the races and cheer on their favorites – so expect the Corniche traffic to be heavy today.
