Ooredoo Qatar plans to begin early lab trials of high-speed 5G wireless technology as early as this month, ahead of a planned public rollout before 2020.

The tests will soon get underway at the telecom operator’s research center in Doha. “We are committed to bringing the latest technology to Qatar before any other country in the world,” chief operating officer Yousuf al Kubaisi told Qatar Tribune this week.
