Qatar has grown by more than 212,000 people in the past 12 months, with the population reaching an all-time high at the end of May, according to newly released government figures.
As of May 31, there were 2,587,564 people inside of the country, the Ministry of Development, Planning and Statistics (MDPS) said on its website.
That’s about 28,000 more people than were here at the end of April, which was another record month.
However, it is not likely that the population will cross the 2.6 million mark any time soon.
Many residents will be traveling over the summer, in addition to the school and Ramadan/Eid Al Fitr holidays.
However, expect the population to rise again at the end of September, once Eid Al Adha is complete.
Government officials have previously said the number of people inside of Qatar will hit a high around the middle of next year due to various construction projects before beginning to taper off.
