As summer comes to an end, Qatar Rail has announced it’s setting up 300 air-conditioned bus stops around Doha, plus a new metrolink service.
Although the hottest months are on their way out, Qatar Rail said it is “gradually” setting up 300 air-conditioned bus stops across Doha, according to a recent social media post.
The move will also see Qatar Rail expand its metrolink service with a new route – the M110 between The Pearl and the recently opened Legtaifiya station. This new station is on the red line, which was first opened to the public on September 1 to coincide with phase 4 of Qatar’s gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. It connects Al Wakrah in the south to Lusail in the north.
We are pleased to announce the opening of Legtaifiya station on the Red Line on 1st September completing the 37 stations of the Doha Metro

M110 metrolink hours
Operation hours of the free M110 metrolink service are:
- Saturday to Wednesday from 6am to 11pm
- Thursdays from 6am to 11.59pm
- Fridays from 2pm to 11.59pm
Qatar Rail’s final announcement was the expansion of the metroexpress pilot service – a move that aims to reduce the volume of private cars and traffic in certain locations. It covers the DECC, West Bay, Al Qassar, Katara, Legtaifya and Qatar University stations, and is available from 6am to 11am.
The service is free of charge, but is only available for Doha Metro passengers registered with Qatar Rail and can be only used in conjunction with a metro ride.
