For the first time in its history, Qatar’s national team has taken the semi-finals and will compete in the finals on Sunday during the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship.

Qatar beat Poland 29-31, in front of a packed crowd at Lusail Multipurpose Hall.

According to spectators, organizers ensured that paid ticket-holders made it to their seats tonight, after hundreds complained about being turned away from the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Qatar will face off against France in two day’s time.
Following Sunday’s finals, star performers Kylie Minogue and Taio Cruz will close out the tournament with a concert at the Lusail Hall.
Tickets to the finals can be bought online here and range in price from QR75 to QR500 a seat.
