Peninsula: Syrian unrest takes its toll on barley prices
Reports the Peninsula newspaper:
DOHA: Prices of barley has sharply gone up due to the shortage of supply in the local market as a result of political unrest in Syria, a major producer of the staple food in the Gulf region.

Price of barley has increased from QR25 to QR35 per bag that farm owners were left with no choice than to buy from other sources at the local market at a much higher cost.
