A new factory that creates road traffic signs will be coming up in the Industrial Area soon.
Speaking at the Made in Qatar Expo in Riyadh this week, the Elan Group announced its plans to commission the complex by early next year.
The factory will be a joint venture between Qatar-based media group and VIS Mobility, an Italian company that specializes in road and rail sign manufacturing.
In a statement, Ibrahim Al-Malki, COO of Enterprise for the Elan Group, said:
“Our vision is to make the roads safer and more comfortable for travelers throughout their journey.
VIS Mobility have been delivering top quality signs in Europe during the past 50 years; it was natural for us to partner with them to operate Elan Signage factory in order to produce high quality products that are clear, durable, and at a competitive price.”

More businesses appear to be favoring Qatar’s Industrial Area as a place to set up shop in recent years.
Though it is not centrally located, rents are cheaper there, and the government has been working to improve its infrastructure.
Just last month, soft drink giant Coca-Cola officially opened its first factory in Qatar, in the Industrial Area.
The QR132m (US$36m) plant now bottles more than a dozen different kinds of Coke products.
