First responders have mostly doused a large fire that broke out in a popular plaza full of restaurants in Doha.
According to witnesses, the fire started inside Caravan restaurant near Ramada signal before 7:30pm. It then spread to nearby eateries, including TCBY and Barbar.

More than one hour after the blaze started, a witness said:
@dohanews The fire has actually ripped through multiple restaurants. Several fire trucks/police cars on site. Hope everyone is safe.

The area appears to have been cleared by police, though dozens of onlookers could be observed near the site.
Around 8:45pm, the Ministry of Interior tweeted that Civil Defense is at the scene of a fire on the roof of a restaurant, and that there are no injuries yet:

Traffic is building steadily on the already busy C-Ring Road and it’s probably best to avoid the area for now.
Some people have reported smelling and seeing smoke kilometers away from Caravan.
