Residents trying to leave West Bay this afternoon faced a less-than-ideal commute home, as two crucial junctions leading out of the area are closed for construction.
In the morning, drivers faced the opposite problem, in part thanks to spur-of-the-moment detours:
traffic to west bay today is unbelievable , it has been 2.5 hours now and still haven't reached the office #dohanews #doha# traffic

@dohanews normally 1 hour commute reaching to 2 hours. Keep getting pushed away from west bay. Perhaps police wants us all to go to museum!

Traffic will likely continue to be congested during the peak morning and afternoon hours this week, but hopefully things will be better after Friday, when Ashghal plans to reopens Oryx and Onaiza R/Bs as signaled intersections.
Were you caught in the crush today? Thoughts?
