With less than a week to go before its Nov. 15 deadline to convert roundabouts in and around the Corniche into signaled junctions, Ashghal has announced one more closure: Onaiza Roundabout, from now to Friday, Nov. 15.
The surrounding area is also closed off for construction, including Al Markhiya St., heading from Onaiza toward Lejbailat; and heading away from Onaiza, toward Barzan signal.
Traffic heading toward Onaiza from all directions will be routed through neighborhood diversions.

Ludaihy (Oryx) Roundabout also remains partially closed through Friday, which means commuters heading into and out of West Bay/Dafna will have fewer routes to choose from this week.
Given the new detours, it looks likely that Khalifa St. and TV R/B will continue to remain congested for the next five or six days.
However, the weeklong closure of Lejbailat R/B, which runs parallel to Onaiza, has ended over the weekend, with the junction reopening as a signaled intersection.
