A record 175 nations, including Qatar, have signed the Paris climate agreement, the first universal action plan to tackle global warming.
The agreement was signed on Earth Day and Qatar was represented by Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi at the UN headquarters in New York. Speaking at a reception afterwards, Al Rumaihi said Qatar is working on several projects related to renewable energy and water desalination, as well as clean transport of natural gas, QNA reports.
