The call to improve traffic conditions on Doha’s crowded roads has grown louder, as more government officials and residents say a change is needed.

The first step to fixing the problem is understanding why things are so bad in the first place.

The Peninsula reports several opinions, including:

• Bad planning of roads
• Constant construction
• Lack of good public transportation

I would add a booming population to the list.
