Expect some possible delays around northern Doha and near the Aqua Park starting this weekend, as Ashghal announces two new sets of road closures.
According to the Public Works Authority, motorists in Duhail will face two months of diversions, while work on Salwa Road will take place in the early mornings this Friday and Saturday.
Duhail closure
The west-bound lanes of Al Duhail St. will be closed from today (June 16) until mid-August, Ashghal said.
Traffic wishing to head toward the Expressway will instead need to go south onto Environment St., then turn right onto Al Kafji St. before getting on the Expressway.
The closure is to allow work on the the roads surrounding the Duhail camp, Ashghal said in a statement.
Salwa Road closure
Meanwhile, a 1km stretch of Salwa Road in front of the Aqua Park will be closed in two stages this weekend.
The east-bound carriageway, heading towards Doha, will close temporarily between the Rawdat Rashid interchange and the Mesaieed interchange to allow the installation of new dynamic digital traffic signs on the main road.
Ashghal will also close the exit from the Al Khalidiya area to Salwa Road.
The route will be shut on Friday, June 17, from midnight until 6am and again for the same time on Saturday, June 18.
Traffic will be diverted to an adjacent service route and no major delays are expected, the works authority added in a separate statement.
