French football club Paris Saint Germain is getting set to head to Qatar next week for their third annual Winter Tour. The team, which has signed a deal to promote Qatar as a tourist destination abroad, will be training here ahead of their friendly match with Real Madrid on Jan. 2.
That game, which will be held at Khalifa Stadium is sold-out, but Ooredoo has just announced that it’s giving away 40 pairs of tickets as part of an Instagram contest.
Locally-based Resolution Productions put together the above video for the Qatar Tourism Authority. Speaking to Doha News, the company’s managing director Kirby Kearns said:
“Making this commercial with an extremely tight turnaround was great fun and we think it shows in the final product. In just a few days we assembled some very talented cast, an excellent crew and raced around changing the signs of the iconic buildings here in Qatar to their French equivalent.
The commercial has now been released across the globe and is playing in Qatar, France, USA and Indonesia. It just goes to show that media of a high international standard can and should be made in Qatar.”
The schedule for PSG’s tour, which runs from Dec. 29 to Jan. 3, does not include any opportunities for fans in Doha to watch PSG practice, but that might change in the coming days.
We’ll keep you posted when we learn more. Thoughts?
