Only one week into January, Qatar has already hosted top athletes for a popular football match and a star-studded tennis competition. It is now gearing up for the 17th Qatar Commercial Bank Masters, a golf tournament that will be held from Jan. 22 to Jan. 25 at the Doha Golf Club.
Part of the European Tour’s Middle East leg, the tournament offers winners some $2.5 million in prize money – which organizers said last year was not enough to attract golfing giant Tiger Woods.
However, several other pro players are expected to compete in the coming weeks, including 26-year-old Englishman Chris Wood, who will return to Doha to defend his title.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased online, and in person at Virgin Megastore in Villaggio and Landmark malls, as well as at the Doha Golf Club.
A “season pass,” which covers all four days of the tournament, including evening entertainment for those 18 years and older, is QR325/person. Tickets for individual days range in price from QR100 to QR150. Entry is free for children under the age of 15 years old.
