It looks like Qatar’s version of winter is officially here.
Weather experts are forecasting high winds and rain showers tonight, which could turn into thunderstorms by Wednesday morning.
On Monday, the Qatar MET forecasted that rains would hit today, but it looks like the heavens are going to hold back for a little while longer.
The Peninsula reports:
(A MET spokesman) said the seasonal rains and the strong winds were the results of a low pressure affecting the Gulf region over the next few days. The turbulent weather is expected to prevail until Nov. 26.
A statement issued by the Meteorology Department said yesterday that the department would issue a warning tonight for those going out into the sea, as the strong winds can cause high seas…
Sources at the Department said the recurring cold spells, with scattered rains and strong winds mark the transition from autumn to winter.
Enjoy it while it lasts, people!
