More than 7,000 Qatar residents flocked to the Qatar National Convention Center this morning to take part in the second annual Color Run.
Clad in white, participants walked, jogged and ran their way through the “happiest 5k on the planet,” being doused in various colors of the rainbow along the way.
The event was organized in conjunction with Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q), which runs the health campaign Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First.
In a statement, Cornell spokesperson Nesreen Al-Rifai said:
“There is a perception that exercise is boring and that going to the gym is a chore that we must endure. However, The Color Run shows us all that exercise can be fun, can be done with your whole family and that it can take many forms.”
As with yesterday’s Ooredoo marathon, part of the proceeds from this run will go toward Educate a Child, which aims to bring quality education to more than six million out-of-school children.
Did you partake in today’s fun run? Thoughts?
