Qatar became the wealthiest nation on earth in 2010, according to a new report from the US business magazine Global Finance.
Pushing its way up the “global rich list”, Qatar surpassed Luxembourg and bested Kuwait and the UAE, aided in part by the state’s gas wealth.
The magazine said it covered 182 countries in its classification, which is based on comparing the living standards of the overall population of one country by using gross domestic product per capita based on party or purchasing power balance internationally.
