The Central Municipal Council (CMC) is installing special post boxes across Doha, says the Gulf Times. It’s inviting suggestions and comments from both nationals and expats on the services it provides.Â
These include public cleaning, safety, water and electricity supplies, infrastructure and drainage. Â
Initially, the boxes will be located in 18 different branches of Al-Meera shops, but there are plans to expand the scheme and place more boxes in shopping malls, health centres and parks.
CMC’s Secretary General, Abul Aziz Abdul Qadir al-Ahmed, says they’ll soon be accepting comments online as well.Â
“The received forms will be studied and if they fall in the jurisdiction of the council they will be treated swiftly. People will be informed of the developments by us. I also encourage people to contact us through our website. Currently we are working on upgrading the service and it will be ready within one month.”
What do you think of the scheme? What suggestions will you be making?
