A luxurious superyacht complete with a spa, massage room, cinema and a wraparound “wintergarden” will be among the highlights at this year’s Qatar International Boat Show, organizers said.
The fourth edition of the show will launch at Mourjan Marinas in Lusail on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
It will open to the public from Dec. 8 and run until Dec. 10, with 35 vessels on display. Visitors can get a sneak peek inside many of them, but only by appointment.
For the first time, the world’s fastest and largest aluminum cruising yacht will dock in Lusail for the event.
Silver Fast
The sleek-lined, 75-meter Silver Fast is being shown by Dubai-based Behnemar Yachting. It can reach a top speed of nearly 29 knots, and is capable of crossing the Atlantic at a cruising speed of 22 knots.
The vessel can accommodate up to 18 guests and 18 crew members.
It features seven cabins, three of which are VIP double rooms; a lounge, a private deck and a cinema. Full spa facilities onboard include an eight-person jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, gym, massage room and beauty salon.
Meanwhile, the aft deck has a wraparound winter garden with glass panels and air-conditioning, with seating for up to 20 people.
The vessel is available for charter. But anyone interested in buying it will need to cough up a cool €79.5 million (QR307 million), according to Behnemar’s website.
What’s for sale
Some 53 marine-related companies will be at this year’s show, hoping to attract buyers to snap up more than the 15 boats worth QR80 million that were sold last year.
A further QR65 million in prospective orders was also put down at the 2015 show, organizers Al Mannai Events said in a statement.
One of the highlights last year was the woman’s only luxury yacht, Pink Lady Charters. It was among 120 exhibitors and 85 vessels which were displayed over the five-day event.
If you’re not in the market for a new yacht, other companies will be there promoting watches, nautical equipment and other related items.
The boat show will be open to the public from Dec. 8 -10, from 2:30pm to 9:30pm. Tours around the boats should be pre-booked through the event’s Facebook page.
