The sudden onset of cold weather in Qatar has prompted many residents to bundle up over the past few days, with overcast, windy conditions forecast to continue all week.
According to the country’s meteorology department, the high today will be 18C (64F), while the low could fall below 9C (48F).
The MET added that the temperatures will drop to 7C (45F) by early Tuesday morning in the central and southern areas of the country.

Meanwhile, visibility will continue to be low in many parts of the country, due swirling dust, with winds blowing at up to 56km/hour (30 knots).
January is usually one of Qatar’s coldest months, but the plummeting temps always seem to take many residents by surprise:

Of course, it’s all relative. Some schools in parts of the US have been closed for days due to below zero temperatures, while local charities are launching initiatives to help those stuck in freezing weather across the Middle East.
Have the falling temps prompted you to turn on your space heater yet? Thoughts?
