From a new circus to concerts to a 24-hour bike race and a scavenger hunt, there’s a lot of stuff on offer around Qatar this weekend.

Here are our picks:

Cirque Du Royal

A new circus show featuring performers from around the world will debut at the Magical Festival Village in Katara this weekend.

The show opens tonight and runs for six weeks (through April 29) at the events hall. It includes “trapeze thrills,” the “Wheel of Death” and famous clowns as well.

On weekdays, the family-friendly show will be held at 6:30pm, and on weekends there are 4pm and 7pm timings. Tickets cost QR75 to QR250/person and can be bought online via Virgin Megastores.

Bryan Adams concert

Multi-platinum songwriter and record producer Bryan Adams will return to the stage in Doha tonight at the city’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The 56-year-old Canadian star will perform at the beachside venue starting at 8:30pm, although doors open 6pm.

According to organizers, apart from his well-loved tracks, the concert will feature some of Adams’s latest songs from his newest album. These include You Belong To Me and Brand New Day.

Tickets cost QR300 per person for General seating (but are sold out), and QR500 for the Fan Pit. They can be purchased here.

Only those 21 years old and over are allowed entry. Passports/ID are required.

MIA exhibition

A new exhibition that features artifacts including carpets, manuscripts, metalwork and ceramics exchanged among major dynasties is now open at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).

Under the name Imperial Threads: Motifs and Artisans from Turkey, Iran and India, the exhibition showcases the works of the Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal empires, all of which marked the beginning of the early modern period in Islamic art.

Aside from the exhibition, educational programs, workshops, activities and events are being organized, including carpet weaving workshops, among others. More information is here.

The exhibition will run until Nov. 4. The MIA is open on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday from 10:30am to 5:30pm; Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 8pm; Friday from 2pm to 8pm; and is closed Tuesdays.

Hani Mitwasi concert

Renowned Jordanian singer Hani Mitwasi will perform in Qatar for the first time this Thursday, March 16, at the Sheraton Grand Doha’s Backyard.

Mitwasi is known to have developed the “Spanish-Levant” music genre, whereby his songs incorporate a mix of Arabic, Spanish and Flamenco music.

The concert, which is hosted by Nagham, will start at 8pm and run until 2am. The Lebanese Brothers and DJ Baz will take the stage prior to Mitwasi’s appearance.

Tickets cost QR150 per person and include a beverage. They can be purchased online or at the Sheraton Grand’s lobby desk.

Only those 21 years old and over are allowed entry. Passports/ID are required.

24-hour mountain bike race

The country’s first ever 24-hour mountain bike desert challenge will kick off this Friday, March 17 starting at 1pm at a private farm in Umm Jurn.

The one-day marathon is open to both amateur and pro riders with races scheduled in four classes, according to organizers Rasen Sports.

Those who wish to register for the race can head to Umm Jurn in the morning or can do so online.

Registration costs QR150 per person prior to the race, but QR200 on the day of the race. Registration for two people costs QR250, and QR300 on the day of the race. For a team of four, the price is QR400 and QR600 on the day of the race.

For children 12 and below, tickets cost QR30 before the race and QR50 on the day of.

Each rider must complete a minimum of three laps. The one with the highest number of laps completed in the 24-hour period will be declared the winner.

Catering, snacks, beverages (both hot and cold) and toilets will be installed along the 11-km course.

Cityscape Qatar 2017

Head over to the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) to catch a final glimpse of the sixth edition of the country’s largest ever real-estate show.

The annual Cityscape Qatar exhibits some of the latest developments and trends in the real-estate arena of the local market.

This year’s exhibition features 85 leading companies. Although today is the last day of the exhibition, it will be open to the public until 10pm.

Souq scavenger hunt

Local eco-tourism company 365 Adventures — Qatar is hosting a scavenger hunt at Souq Waqif this Friday from 4pm to 7pm.

As with all scavenger hunts, competitors will search for clues with riddles on them and locate their stop with the provided riddle.

Volunteers will also be scattered in various locations of the souq to guide the player/teams.

Prizes will include safari trips for six, free vouchers for other upcoming 365 Adventures events and kayaking at the mangroves.

Tickets cost QR70 per person, QR180 for groups of three and QR300 for groups of five, all of which can be purchased here.

Bonus:

• St. Patrick’s Day: Spread the Irish cheer this Friday at the Sheraton Grand Doha’s Backyard where Irish pop/rock band The Enemies will be performing starting 9pm. Tickets cost QR100 for men and QR65 for ladies, but entry for ladies is free before 8:30pm. More information here.
