As engineers around the world race to develop the next generation of wireless technology, local telecom firm Ooredoo has reaffirmed that it wants to launch a 5G network for consumers by 2020, according to media reports.

In perfect conditions, a 5G network will allow a user to download a high-definition movie in a matter of seconds. 5G testing in Qatar could start as early as 2018.
