A building in the process of being demolished collapsed unexpectedly in the Musheireb area around 9am this morning, according to numerous accounts.

Two people were reported injured, with no deaths. But rumors circulating claim up to five people died in the incident.

UPDATE: Although denied by Msheireb Properties, who are developing the site, reports persist that one man was killed in the accident. The Gulf Times newspaper has identified him as Ramagiri Gangadhar, a 33-year-old Indian national. Is anyone able to verify this?

UPDATE 2: Gulf Times has issued a correction of its previous report, stating that Gangadhar’s death took place in another area of Doha, and that he was not killed in the collapse.
