Construction of Turkey’s first military base in the Gulf is expected to be finished within two years, the country’s defense minister has said, according to AFP.

Ismet Yilmaz made the remarks to the newswire on the sidelines of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX). The exact location of the base – which was first announced during the Turkish president’s visit to Qatar in December – has not been released.
