Qatar is looking to purchase some 200 Leopard-2 tanks from Germany, which are valued at $2.46 billion, according to the German magazine Spiegel.

It’s the latest in a string of recent military hardware orders, which has included requests for nearly 60 US helicopters, at a cost of at least $6.6 billion.

Although not yet approved, the German government is reportedly in favor of the Leopard-2 tank sale. Saudi Arabia apparently also made a request for hundreds of the same main battle tanks last month.
