Qatar police arrest expat for attempting to bribe an official
In a move that supports its perception as the least corrupt country in the region, Qatar has detained a man for attempting to bribe an airport official.
According to local media reports, the man offered an immigration employee QR10,000 to grant him clearance to leave the country, despite several court orders that prohibited his exit.
In response, airport security contacted the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), who  took the expat into custody.
Not sure whether to laud Qatar or feel bad for the guy because he didn’t have an exit permit! Thoughts?
