Expect temperatures to reach a high of 42C (108F) today, as May approaches and summer “officially” arrives, the Qatar Meteorology department has said.
Temps will be 3 to 6 degrees higher (in C) this week than this time last year, thanks to an extension of the “Indian Monsoon,” the MET said on its website.
The MET, which also forecasted a minimum temperature of 27C (80F) today, added:
It is worth noting that May is the first month of the summer season which is hot and dry on the day and moderate at night. Sea temperature increases rapidly in this month.
Looks like the on-again, off-again unseasonably mild weather we’ve been enjoying is gone for a good – or at least, for a great long while.
How do you plan to cope when summer smacks us in the face?
