For those waking up to a dusty, hazy and gusty Doha, don’t worry, it’s not an apocalypse.
The Qatar Meteorology Department is forecasting a perfect hat trick of strong winds, dust storms and thunder showers today. Oh, and it’s also going to be really hot: 36C, or 97F.
The MET attributes the crazy weather to three factors, as reported in the Qatar Tribune:
“Low pressure over central Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region, which is moving towards east in association with a mass of cold air of different heights that covers the entire Gulf region and a mass of cold air in northern Saudi Arabia and central areas of Gulf would have an unsettling impact on the weather tomorrow,” al Mannai warned.
“Initially, it would lead to shift in the direction of the wind to southeast and south-west causing moderate and fresh wind to blow onshore and strong wind offshore.
However, towards the evening, the direction of the wind will shift further northwest causing dusty conditions and low visibility across the country,” he added.
If you don’t understand what that means, don’t worry. The MET also said it should all be over tomorrow.
