The General Command of the Qatar Armed Forces has warned residents to “take precautions for their own safety” as the marine shooting range will be active from Jan. 31 until Feb. 4.

It will be conducted from 7am to 1pm each day during that week, QNA reports.

The shooting practice, which takes place a few times a year, occurs off of the water at a range about 40km east of Mesaieed, near Fasht Al Hadid.

While previously, live ammunition has been used during the sessions, it’s not mentioned this time around. However, authorities do say:

“The Qatari Armed Forces General Command warns those who frequent the area to take precautions for their own safety.”
