The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has established 23 plots of land in Umm Zubaar, Al Khor, Umm Salal and other parts of the country for private companies to build “labor camps with modern facilities,” such as health services and entertainment options, QNA reports.
The move comes as the government attempts to improve the working and living conditions of hundreds of thousands of blue-collar expats here, whose numbers are increasing rapidly to support the nation’s infrastructure projects ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
