A 29-year-old Dutch cyclist won the Tour of Qatar yesterday after the closing leg of the race along the Doha Corniche.

But while Niki Terpstra of team Omega Pharma-Quick Step took the overall win, the actual Corniche stage of the tour was won by Frenchman Arnaud Démare.

Having run from Feb. 9-14 this year, the 13th edition of the Tour of Qatar was made up of 6 stages across some 715 kilometers.

The stages included cycling from Al Wakra to Dukhan Beach, Shahaniya to Al Khor, racing in the Lusail Circuit, Dukhan to Mesaieed, Al Zubara Fort to Al Shamal, and finishing from Sealine to the Doha Corniche.
