(UPDATE: Looking to celebrate 2013? Here’s our list.)
Who’s ready to ring in 2012?
It looks like Qatar’s hotels and restaurants are gearing up for some fun and indulgence tonight. Some of the more interesting offerings include:
- W Hotel, La Maison du Caviar: Expect a star-studded event with Cannes Festival glamour. Guests will be ringing in 2012 in style feeling like a star with camera men, red carpets, velvet-roped access and press flashes.
- Grand Hyatt Doha, Isaan: Traditional Thai lanterns will be released at midnight, bringing in a spectacular sight to every diner to ring in the New Year in authentic Asian style.
- Renaissance City Center (Marriott): Masquerade, Brazilian style. Grab your garb and enjoy the festivity of sumptuous varieties of freshly grilled meat, poultry and seafood at West End.
- Sharq Village & Spa, Al Liwan: An overnight feast starting at 7.30pm for QR290 or QR145 for kids under 12.
See Qatar Happening, Time Out Doha and the Peninsula for more going-out options.
Unfortunately, we haven’t seen many family-friend or low-cost ways to ring in the New Year, but Katara, Souq Wagif and the parks are probably a good bet.
And of course, there’s no place like watching the ball drop at home!
Anybody else have any ideas?
