Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will be diverting traffic on West Industrial Street between Street 15 and Street 33 starting Friday.
The Industrial area road works are expected to continue for six months.
Ashghal said traffic will be diverted to a new parallel road with two lanes in each direction and a roundabout at Street 23.
It explained the reason for the road works:
“The diversion aims to enable construction works to upgrade Doha’s Industrial Area Package 1, which aims to increase the capacity of roads, in addition to providing the Industrial Area with a full integrated infrastructure.”
West Bay Lagoon works
Ashghal also announced the completion of QR60 million worth of road works in the Legtaifiya (West Bay Lagoon) area.
The Public Works Authority built 4.5km of new road in the residential area between Legtaifiya Street and University Street.
It also upgraded lighting, added pedestrian crossing facilities, and integrated an advanced drainage network in the block, Ashghal said.
