The number of people registered as blood donors in Qatar has increased 67 percent over the past three years and stood at more than 42,000 people last year, according to Hamad Medical Corp. official Dr. Ajayeb Al Nabet Al Marri.
Al Marri said there were 27,000 donations made in 2015 and that Qatar has become self-sufficient for blood donations, the Peninsula reports. Meanwhile, this year’s Ramadan blood donation drive is underway to encourage more people to donate.
