Sticky, sticky, sticky.
That’s how many Qatar residents felt during yesterday’s Eid celebrations, especially if they headed outdoors to the Corniche, Katara or Souq Waqif.
Expect 45C highs to continue this week, but enjoy at least a brief respite from the humidity, which should stay below 65 percent, the MET has said.
The wind is also expected to pick up this week, the Peninsula reports.
Judging by the crowds, indoor spaces hosted the largest throngs of people during yesterday’s festivities, including malls and cinemas, but beaches, Heritage Village and Katara also experienced big turnouts, according to local media.
Staying home was also a popular option, which brought relief to the roads, with the Traffic Department reporting only minor accidents and no injuries.
Any special plans for today?
