As Doha residents wake up to sprinkles of rain this morning (and the usual laments about just having their cars washed), the Qatar Meteorology Department has said more showers are on the way.
In a statement on its website, the MET said Qatar would be affected by a period of “unstable” weather from Tuesday to Friday, with chances of rain and thunderstorms.
Temperatures will reach a high of 27C (80F) today, but then spike to 37C (99F) on Wednesday. Thankfully, however, that kind of heat won’t be here to stay yet. The MET continues:
“With the beginning of Thursday, the wind becomes Northwesterly fresh to strong in speed associated with high waves offshore, which leads to reduce the temperature for the next few days (which is known as Bard Al-Ajooz).”
And the reason of this fluctuation in weather is transmission season from winter to spring, which will continue until middle of May.
