Medicine to get cheaper (Peninsula)
The Qatar Supreme Council of Health expects medicine prices to drop as new suppliers enter the market, according to comments originally carried by Arabic newspaper Al-Raya.
According to today’s report from the Peninsula:
An official source in the department stressed registration of more drug importers has started that will help in bringing more medicines into the country, according to a local daily.
SCH also plans to allow international pharmaceutical firms and drug manufacturers to open facilities and businesses in the country.
With this the council hopes that drugs can reach the market locally without any middlemen or importers, which will have direct impact on prices.
So more choice and lower prices — that can only be good news, right?
