Kuwaiti on trial for offensive tweets; lawyer says he’s a “sacrificial lamb” and that the “govt is frightened of social media’s impact on the Arab world”

Nasser Abul, a 26-year-old political activist,  ”state security” crimes and damaging Kuwait’s relationship with “brotherly countries” for tweets that allegedly insulted the rulers of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

A verdict is expected tomorrow, with Abdul facing up to three years in jail.
