Enjoy your weekend, everyone, because above-normal temperatures are being forecast for the beginning of this week.
According to the Qatar Meteorology Department (MET), it’s going to be 3C to 6C degrees hotter than usual on Sunday and Monday.
On those days, temperatures will reach up to the mid-30s in most parts of the country.
They will also be accompanied by blowing dust and low visibility.
Is winter over?
The hot spell comes after weeks of cold and often rainy weather.
But it won’t be sticking around for more than a few days, according to MET Director Abdulla Al Mannai.
Speaking to Doha News, he added that the heat may return toward the end of the month, as will a few more showers.
In its monthly outlook, the MET said “unstable weather” will return on March 17.
It forecast rainfall until the first week of April, when things will actually begin to heat up for the summer.
For now, however, this weekend’s forecast is staying in the upper 20s.
