Govt offices work at snail’s pace in Ramadan
The Peninsula reports:
Government offices are open from 8am to 1pm on weekdays during the current month of Ramadan but most employees don’t work and rather spend time sleeping, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday.
Hardly any work is being done in these offices with most visitors going there to get things done returning disappointed…
It interviewed a number of government employees with several of them saying that since most people are awake the whole night, when they report to work at 8 in the morning they go to sleep straight away…
For (one) state employee, Jassem Ahmed, people ignoring work during the holy month wasn’t a ‘big issue’ at all.
“Since most government and private sector companies are aware that productivity is reduced during Ramadan, they postpone important work to be done after the fasting month,” he was quoted as saying.
