Following yesterday’s earthquake in Iran that sent tremors across the Gulf, Kahramaa has released emergency safety guidelines on how to act when one happens.
Despite the mass evacuations that took place across Doha yesterday, staying indoors during an earthquake appears to be better advice.
Even for high-rise buildings, the advice is to drop, cover and hold on. Occupants should also move away from windows and outside walls, but stay in the building and avoid the elevators.
People who are outside should stay away from buildings, especially windows and facades. Those in cars should pull over as quickly and safely as possible. Stay in the car and set the parking brake.
